Whether you’re driving through the seem-to-be endless paddy fields or coasting along the otherworldly mixed water lagoon with the golden sun in the far end, the countryside in Hue is the perfect place to catch a breath of fresh air and enjoy the picturesque countryside, not to mention all the down-to-earth hospitality from local farmers you’ll meet along the way… no one ever comes home without heart filled with love and laughters!

The Hue Countryside can be experienced in two unique timings in a day: Sunrise at 5:00 Am or at 13:30 to catch sunset at Chuon Lagoon. For sunrise timing, it would be more picturesque as you will be cruising on Chuon Lagoon with amazing sunrise in the horizon, plus a vibrant fishing village nearby to try some local fish pancake for breakfast. However, both timings are guaranteed to have its own awesome moments.
Below should be itinerary for afternoon tour to Hue Countryside. For Sunrise Hue Countryside Tour, please request to us if you wish to visit these two beautiful villages in the early morning at the booking section.
Our amazing host will meet you up at your accommdation to start your super fun half a day in Hue Countryside. We will cruise along the paddy fields towards Thanh Thuy Chanh village, a century-old rural village in Hue to firstly visit Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge. You and your family will learn the history of Thanh Thuy Chanh and the dedicated lady who built this unique bridge for locals in the village. Later, you can experience how to make rice powder at the Museum of Farming Equipment.
We will have a nice walk along the village canal to a local farmer’s house with a lovely organic garden. Ms. Nua and her husband has always been farmers since they were young. They will eagerly show you a variety of beautiful vegetable grown in the garden.
You will then be captivated in an open space fulled of rice fields and swimming ducks. Our next farmer’s host, Mr. Ly, owner of a lively duck farm will welcome you for an experience of feeding the hungry ducks.
It should be time to set ourselves off to the enormous Chuon Lagoon to see a different landscape of Hue. It would be an awe for you to enjoy a boat trip in the Chuon Lagoon with Mr. Dung, our fisherman. He will show you how to pull the net to catch fish.
We will say goodbye to our fishermen and should be back at your accommodation around 6:00 PM.

“After a lot of research on tour companies in Hue, I stumbled on Beebee when I was looking for a self-guided walking tour of Hue. My only regret is that I didn’t discover them earlier as we likely would have booked multiple outings with them. Thu was incredibly accommodating with my last minute requests for the walking tour and the Hue countryside tour! Myself, my husband and our 13 year old son joined our 3 guides on motorbike to visit farming and fishing villages and see a lesser traveled part of Hue. Everything was perfect about the tour – including the fantastic meal of local cuisine in a restaurant on stilts in the lagoon!! The guides were informative, friendly and answered all of our many questions patiently 🙂” – Lois and Leighton from Canada on our TripAdvisor.
Sam, Lulu and William had a blast in the duck farm!
